For one serving

• Matcha: approx. 2 g

• Hot water: approx. 60–70 ml

• Water temperature: approx. 75–80°C (167–176°F)

1. Warm the matcha bowl with hot water, then empty and dry it.

2. Sift approximately 2 g of matcha into the bowl.

3. Add 60–70 ml of hot water.

4. Whisk briskly with a bamboo whisk (chasen) using quick back-and-forth movements.

5. When a fine, even layer of foam forms on the surface, it is ready to enjoy.

Tip: Avoid boiling water. Slightly cooler water helps bring out the smooth character and gentle sweetness of the matcha.
